Stephanie has served as the CIO for all divisions of the Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins Health System. She was the Senior Vice President for Information Services for Johns Hopkins Medicine, Vice Provost for Information Technology, and CIO for the Johns Hopkins University for over 25 years.
As CIO, she spearheaded the implementation of the IT master plan and operational redesign for all aspects of information services, including cyber security, network architecture, and design. She led a team of over 1500 IT professionals focusing on high-performance computing, instructional technologies, research, and patient care.
In 2019, Stephanie was appointed to the Board of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Clinical Center. She was appointed to the Health Information Technology Committee of President Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology in 2009. Stephanie recently served as interim vice chancellor for information technology for Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Stephanie is a member of the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society, the Healthcare Advisory Council, the American Medical Informatics Association, and EDUCAUSE. She is a College of Healthcare Information Systems Executives member and served on CHIME's CIO Boot Camp faculty. Stephanie is a frequent panel chair and moderator at the World Health Care Congress and an editorial advisory board member of Health Care Informatics. Stephanie has an MBA from Loyola College.
