I was born at Unity and now I work here

Christine Kilmer

I was born at St. Mary's Hospital in December of 1952. My parents lived in the city at that time. When I started employment at Unity Health in 2005 (I work at the Park Ridge campus) and visited St. Mary's campus for meetings, etc., I thought about my mom giving birth to me on this campus and my parents spending time there. It gave me a very warm feeling especially because my parents are deceased. I imagined how I must have been lovingly carried and taken care of by the nuns who ran the hospital and worked there. My mom was Catholic and very religious. I imagine she must have loved interacting with the nuns during her stay. St. Mary's campus is special to me. I was born at Unity and now I work here!
