Dental Residency Program
Rochester General Hospital’s General Practice Dental Residency, accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, is a 12-month program that provides a hospital-based residency experience in ambulatory, emergency and inpatient settings for five general practice residents. Successful completion of the program fulfills the experience requirement for obtaining New York State licensure.
The General Practice Dental Residency, while large in terms of the breadth and depth of the experience provided, delivers the full benefits of a small program: Individualized attention, and exposure to most rotations within the hospital. Typically, rotations occupy approximately 30 percent of a resident’s time, with 70 percent dedicated to educational components including clinical dental services, off-service rotations and didactic courses.
