Attendance and Federal Financial Aid Eligibility

The Practical Nursing program beginning in August consists of two payment periods, each 600 clock hours and 20 weeks in length.  The program beginning in January has three payment periods: the first two are 450 clock hours and 14.5 weeks each, the third is 300 hours and eleven weeks.

Students must attend/complete all of the hours in the current payment period before they become eligible for the next payment period’s federal financial aid disbursement.  However, excused absences (see definition in “Attendance” section of the current Student Handbook) from class and/or lab that do not exceed 50* hours, and from clinical that do not exceed 15* hours, will count toward that payment period’s total number of completed hours.

*these are the maximum number of hours that can be missed cumulatively, for the entire program, not just for one payment period
