Steps to Become an RRH Eastern Region College Student Intern

Thank you for your interest in interning in Rochester Regional Health Eastern Region!  All our team members play a key role in who we are and what we’re able to provide to our customers. Our goal is to give them the best possible experience while here.  Interns are perfect collaborative team members! We encourage you to work with us towards this goal:  “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud” - Maya Angelou.

The following is a step-by-step outline for prospective interns:

Step 1:  Establish internship opportunity with respective department. 

Step 2:  Complete college student intern application.

  • Print the College Student Intern application
  • Establish medical clearance – obtain copy of immunizations (proof of MMR, one PPD     within the last 12 months, and flu shot in flu season)
  • Mail or deliver the fully completed application and medical documents to NWCH Volunteer Office at address shown on application.

Step 3: Pick up orientation packet from NWCH Volunteer Office. 

  • Bring a photocopy of your ID with you.

Step 4:  Schedule wrap-up session at NWCH Volunteer Office.

  • Bring completed orientation documents and student ID card.

Step 5:  Intern in assigned department under staff supervision.

  • E-mail hours interned to NWCH Volunteer Office each month-end.

Step 6:  Afterwards, provide feedback and completed timesheet to NWCH Volunteer Office.
