The Pain Center at United Memorial Medical Center is a fully accredited interventional pain clinic that is dedicated to relieving both chronic and acute pain through a wide range of minimally-invasive surgical and non-surgical techniques.

The multidisciplinary team at United Memorial's Pain Center provides minimally invasive treatments for conditions that include:

  • Neck pain

  • Cancer pain

  • Phantom limb

  • Myofascial pain

  • Sciatica

  • Bursitis

  • Back pain

  • Joint pain

  • Post herpetic neuralgia (Shingles)

  • CRPS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)

  • Peripheral neuropathy

  • Failed back surgery syndrome

  • Thalamic pain syndrome

Our physicians and support staff work closely with a patient's primary care physician and other health care professionals to help ensure the best possible care and outcomes. We specialize in using minimally invasive fluoroscopic procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of pain.

As an interventional pain clinic, we work to avoid the management of opoiods (chemicals like OxyContin, Vicodin etc.) that work by binding to opoid receptors found primarily in the central nervous system. These may decrease the perception of pain and not the cause of it. Because of our interventional pain management focus, we believe that in most cases, procedures can be performed to treat pain and eliminate the need for dependency on opioid medication.

Throughout their treatment, our patients are carefully monitored with special attention given to how they are progressing and, if they are receiving medications, when and if they need to be altered.
