Dr. Karthikeyan opened his Office Based Endoscopy Suite in 2013 with certification by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities using state of the art Olympus Endoscopy equipment. The Office Endoscopy Suite offers convenience to patients and, in many cases, cost savings in comparison to an outpatient hospital setting. In addition to the office location, Dr. Karthikeyan has admitting privileges and performs procedures at Unity Hospital of Rochester Regional Health.
Meet Dr. Karthikeyan
Dr. Suri Karthikeyan graduated from Madras Medical College, a premier school in India. He moved to England to complete post-graduate work in internal medicine. In 1988, he moved to Canada where he was a fellow in internal medicine and gastroenterology at McMaster University and completed the Canadian boards of internal medicine and gastroenterology. In 1993, he completed the American boards in the same fields.
In 1995, Dr. Karthikeyan was in private practice at New London, Connecticut before relocating to Rochester for family reasons. He then practiced at Highland Hospital first and then Rochester General Hospital before moving on to a full-time position at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He was chief gastroenterologist of Lakeside Memorial Hospital from 2003 through 2013. After Lakeside Memorial Hospital closed its doors in 2013, Dr. Karthikeyan opened his own Office Based Endoscopy Suite to continue serving Brockport and its surrounding communities.
