Camp MedQuest Career Camp at Newark Wayne Community Hospital

For Area 9th-12th Grade Students on July 31st

Area upcoming 9th – 12th Grade students with an interest in exploring health care careers are invited to attend “Camp MedQuest” at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital on Wednesday, July 31st from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. The day-long camp is planned to give participants a hands-on chance to experience the opportunities available in health careers. Areas to explore will include: Nursing, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation Services (Physical/Occupational Therapy), Radiology, Pharmacy, Food and Nutrition and other services. Students attending will rotate through six of the areas of interest.

The registration fee is $35 (includes lunch, snacks and a t-shirt) and pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 20 students from Wayne and Ontario Counties and the deadline to sign-up is July 12th. A limited number of scholarships are available for Wayne County students to attend this camp.

This program is funded in part by a grant from the Wayne County Rural Health Network through a grant from NYSDOH, Office of Rural Health. The grant is being used to reduce the costs of students wishing to participate in Camp MedQuest.

The program is sponsored by Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and the New York State Area Health Education Center System (WNY R-AHEC). WNY R-AHEC is funded by the federal Department of Health and Human Services (Bureau of Health Professions), New York State’s Health Care Act 2000, and local community and foundation support.
