QA Heart Disease Susceptibility

February 15, 2017

This month we are focusing our conversation on the heart as February is Heart Month. Dr. Rohit Gupta gives today answer to this question:

Q: Who is most susceptible to heart disease?

A: The risk of many types of heart disease increases with age.  Those who smoke or use tobacco products are also at increased risk of developing coronary artery disease or heart failure.  People with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes over a period of many years can also develop heart disease.  Treating these problems before they lead to heart disease is an important part of staying healthy.
