This month we are focusing our conversation on the heart as February is Heart Month.  Dr. Bipul Baibhav gives today answer to this question:

 

Q: What treatments are available for heart disease?

A: There are different treatment strategies for management of various forms of heart disease. Medications as well as minimally invasive procedures can be very effective. A minimally invasive procedure like placing a stent in a blocked heart artery is used in the treatment of heart attacks. A device such as a pacemaker is effective in treating symptomatic patients with a slow heart rhythm.
