Statement from Rochester Regional Health President & CEO Eric Bieber, MD, regarding the American Health Care Act:
“Rochester Regional Health is closely monitoring the evolution of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) and assessing its potential impact on our patients, employees and the communities we serve. We are significantly concerned that proposed cuts would reduce access to essential healthcare services and programs that our patients and their families need and deserve. We are, therefore, opposed to the current iteration of AHCA and cuts as proposed.
We have been caring for residents of the Western New York and Finger Lakes regions for more than 150 years. Notwithstanding what is approved in Washington, we remain dedicated to fulfilling our vital mission of caring for individuals and families who live and work here, regardless of their age, background or ability to pay. Our commitment to them is unwavering.”
Rochester Regional Health is an integrated health services organization serving the people of Western New York, the Finger Lakes and beyond. The system includes five hospitals; primary and specialty practices, rehabilitation centers, ambulatory campuses and immediate care facilities; innovative senior services, facilities and independent housing; a wide range of behavioral health services; and ACM Medical Laboratory, a global leader in patient and clinical trials.
