Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Unveils New Patient Access Center
New design will enhance patient experience, improve admission process

Newark, NY – Patients of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital will now have an easier time getting to their non-emergency medical appointments. Today, the hospital celebrated the opening of its new patient access center and main entrance.

Hospital leadership named the new space The Marshall Pavilion, in recognition of the Marshall family’s $500,000 gift to support improvements to the hospital’s maternity and pediatric care facilities. The Marshall Pavilion provides a single, easy-to-navigate entry point for registration, blood drawing, pre-admission screening and other basic exams, including electrocardiogram (EKG) and cardiac stress tests.

“When you come to the hospital, you should expect great care with a simple, convenient and comfortable experience,” remarked Dustin Riccio, MD, president of Rochester Regional Health’s Eastern Region. “We’ve always provided great care and now, with The Marshall Pavilion, patients will have a better experience as soon as they walk through the door.”

Construction began in spring 2016. In addition to the patient access center, the project included a new chapel, gift shop, coffee shop, family meeting room and private patient discharge space.
