Spiritual Support

The Chaplains' Office provides spiritual care and emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patients and their families during their stay at Rochester General Hospital, regardless of their faith tradition.

We are located on the first floor in the hallway between the Red and Green elevators. Talk to your nurse if you would like a visit from a chaplain.

If you or your family would like a quiet place for reflection or prayer, the Chapel / Meditation Room is located on the first floor next to the Patient Library and is open 24-hours.

  • Catholic Eucharistic ministers bring Holy Communion to Catholic patients on Sunday mornings. Daily communion is also available upon request. Please contact the Chaplains' office at (585) 922-4782 to make this request. Anointing of the Sick is also available upon request.

  • Protestant Holy Communion and pastoral counseling may be arranged upon request.

  • Sabbath and Holiday worship aids are available for patients of the Jewish faith.

  • These inclusive services are open to families, patients, and staff members.  We invite all to attend.

To request pastoral care for yourself, a patient, or a staff member, contact the Chaplains' Office at 585-922-4782.
