Dr. McCabe grew up in the small town of Waverly, NY and graduated from Waverly high school where his interest in healthcare began. As a high school athlete he began to gain an interest in the treatment of sports injuries through his own experiences. He then began working as a medical assistant for a small healthcare system while going on to start his undergraduate education at the Rochester Institute of Technology. While at RIT he majored in biomedical science and exercise science. During this time his interest in preventative medicine through exercise and the treatment of sports related injuries peaked. Upon completing his bachelor’s degree, he went on to attend PA school at Daemen College. During his medical education and training he was drawn to working with athletes and the geriatric population. Due to this, he began to pursue a career in orthopedics by completing multiple rotations in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. After obtaining his master’s degree from Daemen College, he entered the surgical advanced practice provider fellowship at Rochester General Hospital before transitioning to work in orthopedic surgery.
