After completing her fellowship training, Dr. Riedy served for two years as the Director of Cytology at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She then joined the staff of The Genesee Hospital in 1991. Dr. Riedy served as the RGH Director of Cytopathology from 2003-2006 and as the Director of Anatomic Pathology from 2006-2012. She was appointed the RGH Chief of the Department Pathology & Laboratory Medicine in January 2012. Dr. Riedy is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester. Her special interests include gynecologic and breast pathology, fine needle aspiration and Pap test interpretation and biopsy correlation. In January 2016 Dr. Riedy was named Rochester Regional Health System Chair for Hospital Labs and Pathology. Since becoming Chief and then System Chair Dr. Riedy has focused on the transition from fee-for-service to value-based laboratory diagnostics, development of EMR capabilities, utilization management initiatives and integration and harmonization of lab and pathology services across RRH. In addition to her active involvement on interdisciplinary hospital committees and initiatives, Dr. Riedy is active with the Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA) and the Monroe County Medical Society Quality Collaborative.
