The Pathology Division includes Surgical Pathology, Cytology and Autopsy services, led by a team of experienced pathologists with subspecialty board certifications in Blood Banking, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Hematology, Molecular Genetic Pathology and Pediatric Pathology. The RGH Cytopathology Laboratory, one of the largest in upstate New York, includes nine subspecialty boarded Cytopathologists and performs 100,000+ cytologic evaluations annually.
Rochester Regional Health Pathology also supports ACM pathology staff and participates in numerous clinical trial studies each year, and their extensive expertise with rigorous data collection and reporting requirements for pathology and cytology testing are second to none.
Because our pathology department operates according to our patients' specific needs, we make it a priority to deliver high quality services in the timeliest manner possible. Our full-time staff is available around the clock to ensure superior turnaround time — in most cases, within 48 hours. We are even able to expedite specimen delivery upon request. Unlike other labs, we give clients full access to our pathology staff via email and phone, so we're able to answer all questions and resolve any issues as they occur. We've also developed a standardized approach to electronic results reporting to streamline data management and expedite output, delivering patient results quickly and efficiently.
Our organization offers a wide range of general and subspecialty services in both anatomic pathology and cytopathology. The breadth and depth of expertise in our department and the ready availability of a full range of modern diagnostic aids like flow cytometry, in-situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry, allow ACM to offer expert interpretation of nearly every type of tissue or fluid specimen encountered in research or clinical practice, and to offer expert advice about test selection.
For both Pathology and Laboratory Medicine questions and assistance, pathologists are always available for consultations by phone 585.922.4121 or email to discuss individual patients. They participate in 30+ monthly interdisciplinary conferences with colleagues from many different disciplines and actively support Oncology Services, including the Lipson Cancer Institute and RGH Breast Care Center of Excellence. The Department serves providers and their patients throughout the community, which supports many blood collection stations in Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Livingston and Wayne Counties.
