Wellness Program at United Memorial
Programs designed to help patients manage their medical conditions with confidence and success
At United Memorial Medical Center, we are committed to helping our patients regain their health by offering nationally recognized outpatient programs and services that provide the education, resources, guidance and encouragement to successfully manage their conditions.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Conducted by registered dietitians, the Medical Nutrition Therapy Program provides education on how to obtain and maintain the proper nutrition and eating habits that are essential in managing medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart failure, osteoporosis, celiac disease and chronic kidney disease.
Living Healthy with Diabetes
Taught by certified diabetes educators, our Living Healthy with Diabetes Program focuses on helping patients understand their disease and how to maintain proper blood sugar levels. Depending on a patient's needs, individualized counseling discusses the role of diet, exercise, stress management and medication in controlling the disease.
Our medically supervised Cardiac Rehabilitation Program addresses the needs of patients recovering from various heart conditions including cardiac surgery. It is focused on helping patients regain endurance and strength through exercise and nutritional counseling.
The program typically consists of 24 sessions lasting from 8 to 12 weeks. The classes, together with exercise sessions, will help you learn to adopt a healthier lifestyle and reduce the risk of further heart problems.
