Surgeries & Services We Provide
Often working closely with other specialty surgical divisions and centers at Rochester General, the Division of General Surgery provides comprehensive diagnostic care and the most appropriate treatment options. Our team of general surgeons and support staff is skilled in the latest surgical techniques, including da Vinci® robotic surgery for minimally invasive procedures.
We specialize in surgical and nonsurgical treatments including, but not limited to:
Laparoscopic surgery, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, hernia repair, splenectomy, gastronomy tube (G-tube) placement, nissen fundoplication, common bile duct exploration and other advanced procedures
Endoscopic evaluation, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) and surgical treatment of upper gastrointestinal and small bowel disorders, including ulcers, hernias, gastritis, GI bleeding and reflux
Surgical management of diseases of the liver, colon, spleen, pancreas, gall bladder, bile duct and endocrine and vascular systems, including gallbladder disease, appendicitis, venous disease, infections and cancer of the thyroid, parathyroid, small intestine and stomach
Other procedures, including tracheostomy, single-incision surgery, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, breast biopsy and minor outpatient procedures such as abscess drainage and hemorrhoid treatmen
