Women's Surgery

threewomenAt Rochester Regional Health, we are committed to providing you with superior treatment for gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions that require surgery. We work with you and your primary care physician to determine whether a robotic procedure is the right option for you.

The most common concerns for women considering gynecologic surgery are:

  • Will my body function normally following surgery?
  • How long will my recovery take?

We use the da Vinci Surgical System to perform minimally invasive robotic surgery. The da Vinci robot provides surgeons a better picture of the surgical site and the ability to make tiny surgical cuts superior to the human hand. For patients this usually means less pain and a faster recovery time.

Our physicians are specially trained and certified in using the da Vinci robot to perform procedures using tiny holes instead of the larger incisions used in traditional surgery.

Benefits of Robotic-Assisted Surgery

With robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery methods, you are more likely to experience a quicker recovery. We use minimally invasive methods to avoid large incisions. The benefits of robotic surgery may vary for each patient and procedure.

Advantages of robotic surgery may include:

  • Significantly less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Fewer complications
  • Less scarring
  • A shorter hospital stay
  • A faster return to normal daily activities
