Dr. Ognibene graduated Summa Cum Laude from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 1995. In 1999 he graduated from medical school at the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse.
He completed his general surgical residency at the University of Rochester / Strong Memorial Hospital in 2004. Following surgical residency Dr. Ognibene completed a fellowship in the specialty of colorectal surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA in 2005.
Dr. Steven Ognibene exhibits extensive surgical expertise in the management of diseases of the colon and rectum. He practices with a team of surgeons who are national leaders in robotic colon and rectal surgery. He performs numerous surgical procedures on the small and large intestine (colon), rectum and anus.
Areas of specific interest include surgical management of Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, colorectal cancer and anorectal disorders. Dr. Ognibene is certified by the American Board of Surgery (2006) and the American Board of Colon-Rectal Surgeons (2007).
