Dr. Zsenits believes that his main calling as a physician is to hear and stand by people that trust him with their care. He uses his best effort and the best available technology to achieve the goals his patients and him set. Besides working with individual patients and families, he also consider his work on our health care delivery system a priority: to help his colleagues and coworkers do their best for their patients and our community. His informatics philosophy is to implement information technology for usability and safety (IT4US) to achieve the quadruple aim. He equally focuses on developing the best technology and the best team to achieve this goal.
Dr. Zsenits is Board Certified and active in the fields of Internal Medicine, Palliative Care, and Clinical Informatics. He started his career as an academic internist, worked in the military and as a field emergency physician, then served as a rural primary care doctor before moving to Rochester in 2002 to become a hospitalist. He later joined the palliative care team part-time. Dr. Zsenits served as Rochester General Hospital's inaugural medical director for ten years, and was then promoted to Associate CMO for Utilization and Efficiency when he launched our nationally-recognized Physician Advisor program. He was named system CMIO and SVP in 2017, and formed our Health Informatics team that has won several national and international recognitions for their work.
Dr. Zsenits enjoys family time with his wife and kids, cinema and card games, exercising: fencing, basketball, skiing, ski patrolling, and listening to music, including the Rochester International Jazz Fest.
