Healthy Moms and Healthy Dads PICHC Program

Healthy Moms and Healthy Dads is funded by New York State through the Perinatal Infant Community Health Collaborative (PICHC) grant. Parents who enroll in the program will work with a Community Health Worker (CHW) to identify desired parenting outcomes. Through the program, participants will gain education, knowledge and resources to assist them in achieving their goals.

Healthy Moms and Healthy Dads offers the following services and supports:

  • Support for parents, to help promote physical and emotional health as well as self-sufficiency
  • Tools and education for a healthy pregnancy and birth
  • Home visiting support program during pregnancy and until children turn 2 years old
  • Breastfeeding/chestfeeding support
  • Doula services
  • Connection to community resources and referrals
  • Parenting education
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Family planning resources
  • Help with securing medical insurance and care

Eligibility

In order to qualify for these free services through Healthy Moms and Healthy Dads, individuals must live in Genesee County and be:

  • Pregnant, or
  • A partner of an expectant parent, or
  • A parent of child under 24 months
