Our Team

Our Quality and Safety Institute is comprised of a team of specialists in the areas of quality, risk management, infection prevention, regulatory, accreditation and pharmacy staff. The team is led by Robert Mayo, MD and Deborah Stamps, EdD, RN. Other team members include RNs, data abstractors, data analysts, coordinators and assistants.

    Robert Mayo, MD

    Chief Medical Officer

    Dr. Mayo provides system-wide leadership across our full continuum of care. He is the liaison between on-staff physicians and hospital administration, ensuring high-quality, safe and efficient care delivery. Dr. Mayo previously served as the Chief Medical Officer for Rochester General Health System (RGHS); prior to that, he was Vice President and Physician Patient Safety Officer of the Institute for Patient Safety and Clinical Excellence at RGHS while maintaining an active practice in Nephrology. He has also held Clinical Instructor and Assistant Professor faculty positions at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

    System Vice President, Quality, Safety Institute

    Deb is the Vice President for the Rochester Regional Health’s Quality and Safety Institute. She partners with the Chief Quality and Innovation Officer and in collaboration with clinical leaders from across the system, Deb works to develop and implement programs that drive continual improvement in our clinical services.  She also serves as the chief nursing officer council’s representative to the Executive Leadership Team of Rochester Regional Health.
