Fernando Caumont, MD

During Dr. Caumont's tenure in medical school, he learned that Urology is a discipline that offers multiple practice environments; from the office to the operating room, as well as treatment options ranging from conventional surgery to endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotics. He is a results-focused urologist that regards all his patients as individuals, taking into account the importance of their families, their social networks, and their occupational contexts. He enjoy working with his colleagues to provide a comprehensive holistic approach to care, that includes prevention and treatment of urological conditions. Dr. Caumont believes it is essential to create a trusting and genial environment with patients that allows for open dialog and concise communication to answer their questions, alleviate their concerns, and assuage their fears.

Dr. Caumont graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine. He completed his residency in urology in Churruca-Visca Hospital and got his certification in urology from University of Buenos Aires. After completing his residency, he was an attending physician in Buenos Aires for 6 years, focusing his practice in urologic oncology and laparoscopic surgery. He completed a two-year fellowship in urologic oncology from the Society of Urologic Oncology at Virginia Mason Medical Center, in Seattle. Dr. Caumont was involved in multiple presentations at various scientific meetings and involved in a multidisciplinary research group. He joined Center for Urology in 2019, advocating for the care of patients with urological conditions, with a special interest in the Spanish speaking population of the Greater Rochester Area. Dr. Caumont will be actively involved in urologic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and general urology.

Dr. Caumont enjoys playing pickleball and soccer, traveling, and spending time with his family.
