Dr. Western's goal is to offer personalized obstetric care to high-risk patients, which is customized to each individual's unique pregnancy needs. As both a physician and a mother, the overall patient experience is extremely important to her, and she believes every patient deserves to feel heard and respected.
Elizabeth Westen, MD is a highly experienced obstetrician gynecologist, specializing in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy care.
Dr. Westen received her medical degree from The Pennsylvania State University before completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as her fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Rochester. Prior to joining Rochester Regional Health, Dr. Westen served as attending physician at John's Hopkins Medical Center and URMC.
With board certifications in both obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Westen is also an active member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Known for treating her patients with respect, compassion, and understanding, Dr. Westen takes a special interest in the management of maternal heart disease and pregnancy, congenital heart disease, intrauterine growth restriction, and when needed, fetal/infant loss and post-loss care.
Outside of the clinical setting, Dr. western spends as much time as possible with her three young daughters. Baking, hiking, and country music are just a few of the things they enjoy together. She is proud to call Rochester her home, and feel fortunate to be part of this community.
