About The Provider
Dr. Nicholas Hess is a cardiac surgeon specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, and mechanical circulatory support, including left ventricular assist devices.
Dr. Hess earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He remained at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to complete an integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency, followed by a fellowship in heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hess enjoys exploring national parks, weight training, canoeing, and kayaking.
