Ricardo J Benenstein, MD

Dr. Ricardo Benenstein is a board-certified cardiologist with over 20 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine, advanced cardiac imaging, and vascular diagnostics. He specializes in echocardiography—including interventional echocardiography during structural heart procedures—as well as vascular medicine, nuclear cardiology, and non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Dr. Benenstein completed his medical degree at the Facultad de Medicina, University of the Republic in Montevideo. He trained in Internal Medicine at NYU Downtown Hospital, followed by Cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, and advanced Cardiac Imaging fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, and holds additional certifications in Echocardiography, Vascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular CT. Dr. Benenstein is a Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE). Widely recognized for his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Benenstein has lectured at leading national and international conferences and continues to focus on building innovative, patient-centered cardiovascular programs in the communities he serves.
