Shilpa Vyas, MD

Shilpa Vyas, MD, is a radiation oncologist with Rochester Regional Health who treats patients with both cancerous and benign conditions using advanced radiotherapy techniques. She specializes in IMRT/IGRT, brachytherapy, radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton therapy, and radiopharmaceutical therapies, with a particular interest in cranial tumors, lung cancer, gastrointestinal malignancies, gynecologic cancers, and complex multi-site disease management. 

Dr. Vyas works closely with multidisciplinary teams across our network to ensure each patient receives the right care, from the right provider, at the right location. This coordinated approach provides access to advanced treatment options, specialized expertise and a seamless experience throughout every stage of care.

She has expertise in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for benign and malignant cranial tumors, SBRT/SABR for lung, spine, and gastrointestinal tumors, HDR brachytherapy, and proton therapy for pediatric and adult cancers. She is committed to delivering highly precise, evidence-based care while providing empathetic guidance and support throughout the treatment process.

Dr. Vyas earned her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. She completed her Radiation Oncology residency training at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, followed by a senior residency at Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She later completed an additional Radiation Oncology residency in the United States at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Texas A&M University in Texas.

Outside of work, Dr. Vyas enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and trying new recipes.
