Sowmya Lakshminarayanan, MD

In her role as Executive Medical Director, Dr. Lakshminarayanan leads strategic and clinical initiatives across the entire Neurosciences service line, further strengthening the Institute’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities and beyond.

Dr. Lakshminarayanan’s clinical subspecialties include vascular neurology (stroke care), epilepsy, and sleep medicine. She has a proven track record of developing and leading comprehensive Neuroscience and rehabilitation programs that enhance patient outcomes and expand access to specialized care across the continuum. Throughout her career, she has successfully led multidisciplinary teams and implemented innovative care models, including overseeing enterprise tele-neurology programs for providing stroke care to the rural communities with well-coordinated stroke care pathways and management.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Lakshminarayanan enjoys Indian classical music, spiritual studies, and practice of meditation and yoga for enrichment of body, mind and soul. She is also actively engaged in several community-based volunteer programs focused on preventative care and overall well-being.
