Vijaya L Kankanala, MD

Dr. Vijaya Kankanala is a medical oncologist and hematologist who provides compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based cancer care. She specializes in medical oncology and hematology, with clinical interests in colon, rectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, and biliary malignancies. Dr. Kankanala completed her internal medicine residency at Overlook Medical Center and went on to fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of Iowa. She partners closely with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that align with each person's goals, values, and unique needs. Her commitment to excellence, empathy, and respect helps patients navigate every stage of care, from diagnosis through survivorship. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
