The Genesee Hospital Archives was formed in 1989 to preserve the history of the hospital and provide access to that history. Through various state and local grants including a major one from The New York State Archives Documentary Heritage Program in 1995-96, we have been able to organize and preserve the hospital’s history. After several moves over the past few years we are now housed at the Rochester Medical Museum and Archives.
Today, the Archives is supported by the Genesee Hospital Legacy Society and sponsors an active Oral History program and displays several exhibits in the main gallery on the Hospital and School of Nursing history as well as various traveling displays through the year.
