Television

In most cases, Rochester Regional Health provides television services free of charge in your room. 

At Newark-Wayne Community Hospital: Television services can be obtained by contacting the hospital switchboard operator. Payment can be made at that time.

Phone Service

In most cases, Rochester Regional Health provides telephone service in all patient rooms at Rochester General Hospital AT NO CHARGE to the patient.

• Our Information desk transfers inbound calls to patient rooms
• Dial "9" to make an outbound call to a local number
• Direct long distance calling is not available from patient rooms. To make a long distance call, call the switchboard operator.
• A TDD (telecommunication device) for the deaf or hard of hearing is available upon request. Patient phones are available on the medical/surgical floors. If you do not have a phone in your room, please contact the nursing staff, who will help you make special arrangements for one. Pay phones are also available throughout our Rochester Regional Health hospitals. 

Cell phone usage

For patient and visitor convenience, cellular devices (phones, PDAs, two-way pagers, walkie-talkies, etc.) may be used in lobbies, cafeterias, visitor waiting areas and private offices at Unity Hospital. However, these devices need to be powered OFF when carried into certain clinical areas (all restricted areas will be indicated with appropriate signage):

• Emergency Center Rooms
• Diagnostic Imaging Rooms
• Cardiac Catheterization Lab
• Clinical Laboratory
• Recovery Room
• Operating Rooms
• August Family Birth Place Suites

Wi-Fi Internet

Rochester Regional Health is proud to provide our patients and visitors with free wireless Internet service. Wi-Fi is available throughout our hospital campuses. 

Newspapers

If you would like to receive a morning and/or evening newspaper, please ask your nurse to place a newspaper sign outside your door. You will be charged for the paper at the time of delivery. Newspaper vending machines are located in the first floor lobby at most Rochester Regional Health locations.
