Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care

A Bold and Visionary Innovation

Arriving Fall 2020

Redefining How Healthcare is Delivered

The new 7-story, 312,000-square-foot critical care center located at Rochester General Hospital is a bold and visionary innovation with breakthrough technology and equipment. It’s part of our goal to provide the highest level of care for the community and focus on what matters to our patients.

The critical care center will feature a brand new surgical care center, a women's health and newborn care, as well as 36 private patient rooms per floor for our medical, surgical, and oncology departments.

New Surgical Center

The new state-of-the-art operating suite will consist of 20 operating rooms designed for various procedures, and a post-anesthesia care unit will be equipped with 28 private patient bays with extensive nurse support.

Women's Health and Newborn Care

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will feature 14 private rooms with more space and comfort for babies and families. A postpartum suite will have 20 private rooms designed to ensure a family-centered environment around both mother and baby.

Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, and Oncology

With 36 private patient rooms per floor all with natural light, the new critical care center provides the ultimate comfortable healing environment for our patients.
