Admissions InformationOur goal is to create a warm, comfortable place where our residents - whether they're here for short-term treatment or long-term elderly care - can maximize their independence and potential.
Our 180-bed building, surrounded by uplifting views of hills, fields, and farmlands, is warm and aesthetically pleasing. The grounds offer serene spaces to sit or stroll.
Our many common areas and family-friendly atmosphere encourage residents to socialize, pursue hobbies, and take part in some of our many planned activities. DeMay Living Center was built with safety and convenience as a priority.
Plus, because it's connected directly to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, residents benefit from quick access to acute care if needed.

DeMay Living Center residents in our long-term adult care are attended to by their primary care physician. The Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Medical Director oversees all physician services. A wide variety of recreational programs, both inside and outside the long-term care facility, are offered to meet resident interests, including music, discussion groups, bowling, cooking, gardening, picnics, shopping trips, restaurant dining, and camping.
Physical rehabilitation therapy and occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology/audiology are available on site and can be prescribed by physicians as needed. Some of these services include gait training, strengthening, joint range of motion, therapeutic exercise, activities of daily living, splinting, language, and swallowing evaluations.
Pastoral care is available to all residents 24-hours-a-day, regardless of religious affiliation. Our chaplain facilitates resident contact with the present or former parish whenever possible.
Quality initiatives at DeMay cover all aspects of care - from our pharmacy's computerized resident drug profile (to help us avoid complications of possible drug interaction or allergies) to resident satisfaction surveys. Residents have placed DeMay with the top skilled nursing facilities in the nation for overall satisfaction.
