Rochester, NY – Rochester Regional Health (RRH) is proud to announce that three of its area hospitals have received prestigious honors from the American Heart Association (AHA) through its Get With The Guidelines® program. These recognitions highlight the health system's commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care for heart, stroke, and diabetes patients.

The Get With The Guidelines® program is a national initiative by the AHA that provides hospitals with evidence-based treatment protocols and tools to improve patient care. Hospitals participating in the program are eligible for recognition based on their adherence to specific performance measures.

Rochester General Hospital (RGH) celebrates 12 consecutive years receiving Get With The Guidelines-Gold Plus Achievement in Heart Failure Care as well as Get With The Guidelines: Gold Plus Achievement in Stroke Care. Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH) has received Get With The Guidelines - Gold Plus Achievement for Stroke Care as well as Rural Stroke Gold which recognizes rural hospitals for their excellence in acute stroke care, ensuring up-to-date treatment and reducing health disparities. United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC) has also received the Rural Stroke Gold as well as Gold Plus Achievement for Stroke Care. In addition, UMMC has received a number of recognitions by Get With the Guidelines for consistent and quality care in coronary artery disease.

Gold-Plus and Rural Stroke Gold rankings represent the highest levels of recognition available through the program.

"These recognitions underscore our hospitals' unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care to the communities we serve, both rural and urban." said Dr. Robert R. Mayo, Chief Medical Officer for Rochester Regional Health. "We are honored to be acknowledged again by the AHA for our consistent efforts to improve the health and well-being of our patients."

The AHA's Get With The Guidelines® program supports hospitals in implementing best practices; aiming to reduce patient readmissions and improve long-term health outcomes.
