RRH Hospitals Recognized for Excellence in Stroke and Diabetes Care Across the Region

Rochester, NYRochester Regional Health (RRH) is proud to announce that five of its hospitals have received prestigious 2026 honors from the American Heart Association (AHA) through its Get With The Guidelines® program, recognizing their commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with stroke and diabetes.

The Get With The Guidelines® program is a national quality improvement initiative from the American Heart Association that helps hospitals implement evidence-based guidelines and best practices to improve patient outcomes. Hospitals participating in the program are eligible for recognition based on their adherence to specific clinical performance measures.

This year, five Rochester Regional Health hospitals were recognized for the following achievements:

  • Rochester General Hospital (RGH) has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Achievement, marking 13 consecutive years of the top honor. RGH also earned the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, recognizing its commitment to timely, evidence-based stroke treatment and quality care for stroke patients with diabetes.
  • Newark-Wayne Community Hospital (NWCH) has received Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Achievement, along with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. NWCH also earned Rural Stroke Gold, recognizing its excellence in providing high-quality stroke care in a rural community.
  • United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC) has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Achievement, as well as the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. UMMC also earned Rural Stroke Gold, recognizing its commitment to providing high-quality stroke care in a rural setting.
  • Unity Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Silver Plus Achievement, along with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
  • Canton-Potsdam Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Achievement and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.

The Gold Plus and Silver Plus achievement awards recognize hospitals for consistently meeting quality measures for stroke care, while the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite recognizes hospitals that meet specific standards for timely treatment of eligible stroke patients. The Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognizes hospitals that demonstrate adherence to evidence-based care for patients with diabetes who are hospitalized with stroke or cardiovascular disease.
