ROCHESTER, NY — Rochester Regional Health’s Lipson Cancer Institute has once again been named by Becker’s Hospital Review to its list of Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs, marking the third time the cancer program has earned the distinction.
Lipson is a comprehensive cancer care network serving approximately 25,000 patients annually across 13 counties in Western New York and the Finger Lakes. At the heart of the program is a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, researchers and support professionals who bring expertise and compassion to patients and families from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

This year, Lipson introduced the Varian Ethos Adaptive Radiation Therapy System at Rochester General Hospital. The AI-enabled technology uses daily imaging to adapt radiation treatment to changes in a patient’s anatomy, helping clinicians precisely target tumors while limiting unnecessary radiation to surrounding healthy tissue.
At Unity Hospital, construction is underway on a $9 million expansion of Lipson Cancer Institute in response to growing demand for cancer care. The project will double infusion capacity from 10 to 20 chairs, add a dedicated oncology pharmacy and expand clinical and research space, allowing teams to care for more patients while improving coordination and efficiency.
Across its network, Lipson combines medical, surgical and radiation oncology with genetic testing, precision medicine and comprehensive support services. The institute has also maintained accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer for more than 40 consecutive years and has achieved Network Cancer Program accreditation across its cancer care network.

We want patients to have access to the next generation of cancer care while feeling known, supported and cared for every step of the way.”
