Rochester General Hospital named a Best Regional Hospital; four hospitals recognized for delivering high quality care across multiple specialties and procedures
ROCHESTER, NY– Rochester Regional Health today announced four of its hospitals have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in the 2026-2027 Best Hospitals rankings, reflecting the health system's commitment to delivering exceptional, high-quality care across the communities it serves.
Rochester General Hospital was named a Best Regional Hospital and recognized as High Performing in 17 types of care, while Unity Hospital, Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and Canton-Potsdam Hospital also earned High Performing recognitions for specialties, procedures and conditions.

Rochester General Hospital was named a Best Regional Hospital and earned High Performing ratings across cardiovascular care, cancer surgery, orthopedic care and the treatment of complex medical conditions, including heart attack, heart failure, stroke, diabetes, kidney failure and pneumonia.
Unity Hospital was recognized as High Performing in Rehabilitation and received High Performing ratings for numerous procedures and conditions, including advanced heart care, orthopedic surgery, cancer surgery and stroke care.
Newark-Wayne Community Hospital earned High Performing ratings for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia.
Canton-Potsdam Hospital earned a High Performing rating for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings evaluate hospitals on patient outcomes, experience, nurse staffing and other measures of quality across specialties, procedures and medical conditions. Hospitals recognized as High Performing demonstrate significantly better outcomes than the national average in the areas evaluated.
