Rochester, NY — Rochester Regional Health (RRH) has appointed Randy Green, MD, JD, MBA, as President of Rochester General Hospital (RGH), effective immediately.

As President, Dr. Green will partner closely with RGH leaders to support day-to-day operations and leadership continuity as RRH moves forward.

“Dr. Green has led with a strong focus on clinical quality, patient safety, and partnerships across our system,” said Jennifer Eslinger, President of Health Care Operations and COO. “He brings teams together to drive consistent, high standards of care, and I’m confident he will help ensure continuity in day-to-day operations at Rochester General Hospital.”

Since joining Rochester Regional Health in 2024, Dr. Green has served as Executive Medical Director (EMD) of the Sands-Constellation Heart & Vascular Institute, where he has advanced high-quality, safe care and strengthened collaboration across RRH. Dr. Green will continue in his EMD role and maintain his clinical and surgical practice.

Prior to RRH, he served at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., as Division Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Director of the Upstate Heart Institute, and Associate Professor of Surgery. He also held medical staff appointments at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, and Rochester General Hospital.

An accomplished cardiac surgeon, leader, and educator, Dr. Green has published and presented extensively on research and clinical innovation, including the development of new medical devices to advance treatment of complex cardiac conditions. He is a member of regional, national, and international medical societies, including the Medical Society of the State of New York and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery.

“It is an honor to serve as President of Rochester General Hospital,” said Dr. Green. “RGH has a long tradition of clinical excellence and community commitment. I look forward to working with our teams to support our people, strengthen patient care, and continue building on our strong foundation.”

In addition to his medical credentials, Dr. Green holds a law degree and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association Health Law Section, and the American Health Lawyers Association. He earned his medical degree at Northwestern University, his MBA from Cornell University, and his law degree from Syracuse University. He completed Residency and Fellowship training at Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by a Cardiothoracic Fellowship at the University of Virginia.

This appointment follows Tammy Snyder’s transition into a system-wide Senior Vice President of Operations role, after serving as Rochester General Hospital President.
