ROCHESTER, NY - Two of Rochester’s most trusted names, Rochester Regional Health (RRH) and Wegmans Food Markets, have joined together to bring fresh, local meals directly to care teams and visitors at Rochester General Hospital (RGH).
This first-of-its-kind collaboration in a healthcare setting raises the bar for how health systems and local partners can come together to support those who care for others.
“Our team members give so much of themselves caring for others,” said Tammy Snyder, MPH, President and Chief Operating Officer at RGH. “When they asked for more fresh and convenient food options, we didn’t just look for a vendor, we looked for a partner. Wegmans was the obvious choice because we share the same belief; caring for our people starts by being rooted in the communities we serve.”
More than a matter of convenience, the partnership reflects RRH’s commitment to innovating and expanding what it means to provide care like family. Following the addition of a 24-hour micro market for team members last year, RRH continues to enhance the on-campus experience and build on its recognition by Newsweek as one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care.”
The new Wegmans Grab & Go station in the RGH Cafeteria will offer fresh salads, bowls, subs, pasta, ready-to-heat meals, and desserts, including vegetarian and seasonal selections.
“Helping people live healthier, better lives through exceptional food is at the heart of everything we do,” said Frank Guidice, Wegmans digital restaurant director. “By partnering with Rochester Regional Health, we’re bringing that mission to life in a new way; delivering the quality, convenience, and variety Wegmans is known for directly to the hospital’s care teams and visitors.”
The new station will operate Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–12 a.m., and Saturday–Sunday, 11 a.m.–12 a.m., making healthy, high-quality meals available for visitors and care team members across all shifts.
