BATAVIA, NY – Rochester Regional Health is proud to celebrate United Memorial Medical Center’s 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national independent watchdog organization focused on patient safety.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is considered one of the nation’s leading indicators of hospital safety, assigning grades to hospitals across the country based on their ability to prevent medical errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The grades are calculated using more than 30 national performance measures and are updated twice annually.
The recognition places United Memorial Medical Center among only 40 hospitals in New York State to receive an 'A' for excellence in protecting patients from preventable harm and delivering safe, high-quality care.
“This ‘A’ rating is a tremendous achievement for our entire team and reflects the culture of safety, accountability, and compassion that exists throughout United Memorial Medical Center every day,” said Jill Graziano, President and COO of United Memorial Medical Center. “This national ranking demonstrates the care and commitment of our physicians, nurses, clinical teams, and support staff to providing the safest and highest quality care possible for our patients and community.”
Leapfrog evaluates hospitals on a wide range of patient safety measures, including infection prevention, medication safety, staffing, hand hygiene, maternity care, and systems designed to reduce medical errors.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are released each spring and fall and are designed to help patients make informed decisions about their healthcare.
