Inpatient Services

For those who are unable to go home after an illness or injury, our inpatient rehabilitation services (hospital-based rehabilitation services) are available at the Golisano Restorative Neurology & Rehabilitation Center. Consultations with our experienced physiatrists provide defined objectives for medical rehabilitation, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, if needed. The team focuses on developing individualized plans to meet your needs, including family education and home exercise programs. Therapy is provided at bedside or in our state-of-the-art therapy gym and we will work with each patient on pre-discharge planning and post-discharge follow-up.

Outpatient Services

From diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation, our physiatrists consider the unique needs, abilities and objectives of each patient. They work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and other rehabilitation professionals who collaborate to provide you exactly the care you need.

Procedures commonly performed by our physiatrists include:

  • Electromyogram (EMG) and other nerve conduction studies
  • Ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Fluoroscopy-guided procedures
  • Trigger point injections
  • Injections of spine and joints
  • Discography, disc decompression, and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty
  • Spine and peripheral nerve stimulators, blocks and ablation procedures
  • Prolotherapy
  • Spasticity treatment (phenol and botulinum toxin injections, intrathecal baclofen pump trial and implants)
  • Manual medicine/osteopathic treatment
  • Prosthetics and orthotic evaluations
  • Complementary-alternative medicine (e.g., acupuncture, etc.)
  • Disability/impairment assessment

Regardless of the next step following a patient’s injury or illness, our rehabilitation team can help provide education to patients and family members on the recommended next steps in the rehabilitation process and facilitate outpatient follow-up with our rehabilitation physicians and therapists.  Our rehabilitation team is committed to helping patients through the continuum of care.
