We in medicine all enjoy the sciences and helping people. When I practice medicine, I do my best to try to put myself in my patients' shoes. It oftentimes provides a much better understanding of their situation and seems to equate to better healthcare. I'm also a huge fan of quality communication, so I strive to have a direct, yet professional and compassionate, approach to communication with patients. Medicine is also absolutely a "team sport". I do my best to make sure my coworkers know how valuable they are to helping me execute my job duties day in and day out.
My interest in medicine started as a child. My mother has been an RN for years and I used to enjoy looking at her anatomy/nursing school books and texts. The interest in medicine just stuck since then.
