splintProtecting Your Bones

Once a proper diagnosis is made, we have the resources to offer casting and splinting in the office.

Splints are used more commonly to treat broken bones when there is a significant amount of swelling. Splints allow for changes in size of your arm or leg due to swelling and are less constricting. Splints often have to be converted into a cast when the swelling has come down so that a snug mold can keep the fracture well aligned.

Casts are more constricting as they are a circumferential hard shell that are less accommodating for changes in size due to swelling.  They are available in regular and waterproof versions. We also have access to top-of-the-line bracing.
