An experienced team of colon & rectal surgeons skilled in the latest technology.

Our experienced team of colon & rectal surgeons and medical staff will work with you and your primary care physician to determine the right treatment for you—keeping you informed every step of the way—and provide ongoing support before, during and after your treatment. The Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery collaborates with specialists in other disciplines at Rochester Regional Health, including gastrointestinal and surgical oncology, to provide you with the expertise you deserve and the dedicated interest of each physician, surgeon and medical staff member involved in your treatment and recovery—from preoperative to postoperative care and beyond.

Bianchi_MarieMarie A. Bianchi, ACNP
Nurse Practitioner, WOCN

Ms. Bianchi is a native of Rochester and earned her graduate nursing degree at the University of Pennsylvania and post-master’s certificate from the University of Rochester. She is certified in Gastroenterology Nursing and practiced at Strong Memorial Hospital for several years before joining the surgeons at Rochester General and RCRS.  

Ms. Bianchi is a member of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ (WOCN®).



Macey-BarbaraBarbara A. Macey, NP-C, RNFA
Nurse Practitioner, Coordinator for the J-Pouch Support Group

Ms. Macey is a native of Rochester, and she earned her nursing undergraduate, graduate and post-master’s certificate from the University of Rochester. She is a certified Registered Nurse First Assistant and regularly assists Rochester General’s colorectal surgeons in the operating room. Ms. Macey has been affiliated with Rochester General Hospital for more than 35 years and received Rochester General Hospital’s highest professional nursing honor, the M. Jeanne Van Niel Clarke Award. She also became the first nurse practitioner internationally to become certified as a bedside assistant in robotic surgery. She and three other advanced practice nurses were the first internationally to publish a paper on the postoperative care of the robotic colorectal surgery patient.



Amy Harr, RD

Nutrition Counselor

Ms. Harr provides patients in the Colorectal Surgery Division of Rochester General Hospital with nutrition counseling services to assist with dietary changes following colorectal surgery and other non-surgical procedures.
