BATAVIA, NY - Rochester Regional Health is pleased to support the launch of a new express transit service in partnership with the Regional Transit Service (RTS). Beginning Monday, June 16, 2025, this initiative will provide complimentary transportation between the City Centre transit hub and Batavia area medical facilities, including RRH's Batavia Medical Campus.
The service will operate as a dedicated express route, running four times daily in a continuous loop. It is designed to offer a convenient, reliable, no-cost transportation option for patients, visitors, and staff, supporting access to vital healthcare services within the Batavia area.
"Transportation is a common barrier to care, especially in rural areas.” said Sonja Gonyea, Associate COO at UMMC. “This express service is a meaningful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every patient, regardless of location, has a clear path to the care they need.”
The Express Service is subsidized by Rochester Regional Health and URMC, making it completely free to all riders. This initiative represents a shared commitment to health equity and improving access to care for all, regardless of geographic location.
