Community & Peer Support
Peer and group support for pregnancy and infant loss.
- Who it’s for: Parents, grandparents, and families impacted by pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant loss

- Don’t Talk About The Baby - A documentary that explores the culture of shame and silence surrounding miscarriage, stillbirth and infertility. Too many men and women suffer in silence, and this film will be a tool for people to start conversations and spread awareness.
- Return To Zero - The story of a couple who are preparing for the arrival
of their first child and just weeks before their due date are devastated to discover their baby son has died in the womb and will be stillborn.
Podcasts
Losing a baby can also bring unexpected expenses at a difficult time. For families who qualify, there are organizations that offer assistance with funeral and burial costs.
Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
The Monroe County Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives provides financial assistance to help eligible families with funeral and burial costs after the loss of an infant.
The TEARS Foundation
Provides financial assistance to help ease the cost of burial or cremation services for families who have lost a baby. Information about eligibility and how to apply is available on their website.
Remembrance Events
The Remembrance Ceremony
Each year, Rochester Regional Health hosts a remembrance ceremony to honor babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, or SIDS. This gathering offers a quiet, meaningful space for reflection, memory‑making, and remembrance.

Wave of Light
The Wave of Light is a nationally and internationally recognized observance held on Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day to honor babies lost through pregnancy or infant loss. Individuals and communities pause together to remember, reflect, and hold space for families impacted by loss.
